As Gossip Cop has noted, Odom has been improving over the last few days since being found unconscious and unresponsive in a Nevada brothel nearly a week ago. He awoke from a coma on Friday, but since then, there’s been conflicting reports on whether he can form sentences and truly talk or only communicate via physical gestures. He remains in critical condition with several organs still in danger, and his long-term prognosis is unclear.
Odom still needs intensive care, with a team of doctors continually assessing brain damage, bodily functions, and the outlook on a meaningful recovery. It was recently decided, however, that such care should take place in Los Angeles going forward. Since arrangements had to be made, it wasn’t clear when such a transfer would happen, but E! now claims Odom has been officially discharged from Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital, and the transport plans are in motion.
Odom has a long road of rehab ahead, but is far from out of the woods. Gossip Cop again stresses that it has not been confirmed that the discharge and transfer have indeed taken place. We’ll continue to have updates a appropriate.
